lyrics

I made a plan and I put it into motion
I built a ship and then I built myself an ocean
I said let’s go boys, let’s do it again
Went to the docks
With just the power of suggestion
Consigned a crew and somehow
Answered all their questions
I said let’s go boys, let’s do it again
With two by fours and plywood boards
That were connected by a simple paste
Cured in the sun, my box of sticks sailed true
Oh this ship sailed so true

Every night I close my eyes and dream of an
Island in the sea underneath the bluest skies

I built a ship and I sailed it on the ocean
But then a sound came from the hull
A great explosion, I said I’m sorry men
But it looks like we’ll be going down fast
Well I must concede boys I’m no engineer
By trade, and I can’t be judged here
Solely on the grave mistakes that I’ve made
Oh and I’ve made a few

Every night these men and I, we wash up on an
Island in the sea underneath the bluest skies

I made a plan and I put it into motion
I sank my ship and then I emptied out the ocean
But I say who’s with me boys should we
Do it again? I say let’s go boys, let’s do it again
